If you could buy scrubs cheaper, would you?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs buy

First of all I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question or not. But any way here it goes:

If you could buy your scrubs cheaper than you do now, would you? I mean they are not name brand scrubs or anything like that. They would be home made, the color that you want and so on and so forth. You could even pick out the material that you wanted your scrub made with. All I want to know is if they were cheaper and was made good, would you buy them?

The reason I am asking this, is because I am thinking very seriously about making scrubs to sell. I was looking in stores a couple of days ago for scrubs for a new job that I am going to get. I was very shocked as to how much they are. I got to figuring it up and realized that I could make them, in most cases a lot cheaper than the stores sell them. Does any one think this would be a good ideal? No I am not advertising either, just wondering if it would work or not, if it is worth trying or not?

make custom scrubs and work your way into the market, I know a lot of nurses who make their own

it is getting your foot in the door to pay your way, don't just make a bunch andhope to sell

Can I wear my Vans with scrubs?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs uniforms

I just got a job at an ophthalmology center as a perimetry technician assistant and the uniform is scrubs, as is expected. This is my first job in a medical setting and I was wondering if it was inappropriate to wear my Vans slip-ons. I really hate regular tennis shoes and was looking for a way around them.

Yes, beyond a shadow of a doubt unless there is something specific in your dress code (which I doubt there is). I have had dealings in the medical field for years (both as a patient and as an employee). I have yet to see a job that expects scrubs not find Vans type sneakers acceptable.

As for Vans being a good choice, I have to leave that to you. Some at work might question it as there isn’t a lot of support in your typical slip-on Vans. But for me this is personal choice as long as it doesn’t interfere with your performance (e.g. you get tired too quickly).

NOTE: I encourage people to aways wear several shoes each week. Each pair needs a chance to air out and the insole a chance to return to their original form.

You might consider having two Vans slip-on and one sneaker with more support.

On a personal note: I’m glad to meet another slip-on fan. I love Vans, Men’s Keds, Sperry Top Sider, etc Have fun!

What shoes do you wear with scrubs?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs

I am starting a job in a medical office and I have to go buy scrubs. I am also supposed to wear "all white shoes". Do you have any suggestions on what sort of shoes I should buy? I am a runner so I am partial to running-esque shoes or at least shoes that will support my arch.

Running shoes are perfect…I work in the medical field and at first, because I wanted style I bought all kinds of different tennis shoes to go with my scrubs, but they were cheap…I started having alot of pain in my feet and after talking to my step mother, a nurse for over 20 years, she told me to spring for some Nike's….after that the pain went away…if you are going to be on your feet all day, you have to get the really nice shoes with the good soles…trust me, it is worth it! Since you are required to wear all white (sorry for that by the way) First try shoes stores in the mall (that is what I would do) but if you have difficulty finding mostly white, then you could go to a uniform store….not sure where you are located but often you can find stores that just sell scrubs…and they will also have a selection of white shoes. Just make sure you are getting a good pair….they aren't always the most comfortable. You can also wear clogs..those are comfortable and sold at these stores, mostly in all white, but I hate to wear them because I always feel like my foot is slipping. Maybe try and find a white pair of Crocs? Here are some web sites that might help, as well…congrats on the new job and good luck!

Are scrub uniforms cute?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs uniforms

Do any of you guys think nursing scrub uniforms are cute or sexy? Say, if the nurse was a blond-haired, fair skinned, foxy babe.
So. I know it's a superficial question. I was just curious. :p

Geez.

No, and the uniform has nothing to do with the person in it. If you’re looking for a date, there are several websites that cater to such fetishes.

Good luck.

How much would you spend on quality body products like lotion, body scrubs and shampoo.?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs

I'm launching a new product a luxury line of beauty products like lotions, shampoos and body scrubs and I'm getting around to pricing them. They will be of high quality but I would like to price them at moderate prices like under $50. What is the most and least you would spend for your body?

It would depend on the natural content of the product…I don't mind paying for something wonderful…without all the chemicals and preservatives.

Does Wal~Mart carry lab coats?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: lab coats

I know it may sound silly, but I know they sell scrubs and for nail school I need a white 3/4 lab coat and everything but Wal Mart is closed when I get off tonight. I know some stores or different but I figured I'd ask.

No they dont. You have to go to a specialty store, one that sells medical uniforms. Wal mart has scrubs but no lab coats, i know I have had to buy 4 or 5 lab coats in the last two years, and I have never ever seen them at walmart, I would have bought them there if they had them, as everything is always so cheap there.
