do most college book stores have lab coats and goggles?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: lab coats

My AP Biology teacher has required everyone to purchase a lab coat, goggles, and a lab book for his class. He told us which college to go to in order to find this book, however it was not clear whether or not they carried the other items i needed. I have searched their entire website and can not find pictures of their book store, i have even tried calling but they are closed right now. So my question is, for those of you who have been to a college bookstore, do you remember if they had either of these items? and if not, is there a place i can go to get them?
never mind. i actually just found my answer. first person to write anything gets the 10 points.
for anyone that may need the answer in the future, i went to my closest community college and they a lot of them there. all different colors and sizes

I’m in college right now, and I’ve never seen any lab coats or goggles in the bookstore. In fact, I’m about 95% sure that shelf space in college book stores is too valuable to place lab coats and goggles there. However, there are of course many ways you can get them instead.

Online is the obvious option.

Also, you might want to check with previous students who took AP Bio with your teacher. They can probably share with you where they got their equipment. You can always get great advice from older students for any class, high school or college.

Lastly, remember to keep your receipt! If you have to buy the equipment for a public school (maybe also private, but I’m unsure), you can probably get a tax exemption and get money back for it! That is, the government will reimburse you for the lab equipment.

Where can I buy some cool scrubs?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs buy

My gf just got a new job and i was gunna buy her some new scrubs, but I would like to get some cool ones, i didnt know if they made some with different old school cartoon characters on them or cool looking designs or something…if so and anyone knows a good website with good price let me know.

If you are looking for Cartoon Characters, Cherokee Tooniforms makes the best selection (they have betty boop, hello kitty, snoopy/peanuts, etc). I get my Cherokee scrubs from bestofscrubs.com where they have good prices and every order has free shipping:

Otherwise, my FAVORITE scrubs are from Tafford. They have cool, unique designs that you wont find anywhere else, their prices are affordable and quality is great! She will love you for introducing her to Tafford!

Good luck!

i work at a western store & we are trying to find uniforms to the employees to wear, need ideas?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs uniforms

we were thinking the dark colored scrubs but that is not western. we want something that is fairly western or somehow resembles agriculture. any ideas? vest? this is duing the summer time so keep that in mind.

I think any western clothing is obviously appropriate, however, for those who don't like dressing western, they could just wear a nice solid colored polo, jeans, and boots, or tennis shoes….shirt tucked in of course.

Where can I order good nurse's scrubs online and do they run small?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: scrubs

I know there are a lot of places on line that I can order scrubs from; however, I am wondering if they are of quality and do the scrubs run small?

I get mine from Walmart and yes they run small and extra small. YOu can go into the store to try them on but they also sell a variety on there website. Here's the link http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&ic=48_0&search_query=scrubs&Find.x=7&Find.y=8

Where can I find good nursing uniforms?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: nursing uniforms

I would recommend starting with some a review site. I typically start off with review sites to help me narrow down and weed out from a list of websites out there. Also, these sites can provide coupons that will help you save anywhere from 5 to 15%. I'm sure you will agree that this is much more productive then surfing the internet where you may get distracted with other links.

How would i wash them/ dry them without them shrinking.( if i cant prevent shrinkage, how can i reduce the amount they shrink?)
im in Maine, so its cold outside, where can i hang it? inside? or still outside?

Don't use any heat…wash in cold water, hang to dry.

What hospital staff wear white vests / sleeveless coats?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: lab coats

I’m just curious what staff members of the hospitals sport the white vests/ sleeveless lab coats. Are they Physician’s assistants, physical therapists, medical assistants, respiratory therapists.
It seems that the physical therapists, secretaries, nurses, and CNAs all wear scrubs. I know diet techs wear white vests or a lab coat.

I’m just trying to understand inner-workingsings of a hospital. There are so many people! :)

thanks in advance.

There used to be more hard and fast rules for this such as only those with a doctorate degree were allowed to wear coats that went below the waist. It just isn't true anymore.

Personally, I always wear a long coat, but my collegue likes to wear a sleevless vest in the summer (we are both PTs). yet, we are both allowed to wear scrubs as an alternative.

It's all dependent on the facility's policies. The only way to tell for sure is by reading someone's credentials on their name badge.
